Catch Legendary Pokémon and Paradox Pokémon in The Indigo Disk

Encounter some familiar Legendary Pokémon and meet new Paradox Pokémon in part two of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero.

There are plenty of fun things to do when you’re exploring Blueberry Academy in The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 2: The Indigo Disk, the recent DLC for the Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet games. For fans of Legendary Pokémon, though, The Indigo Disk also brings an exciting opportunity to catch Legendary Pokémon that were originally discovered in other regions—along with new Paradox Pokémon. Here’s what you’ll need to do to track down these powerful Pokémon.

Catch Legendary Pokémon from throughout the Series in The Indigo Disk

During your time as an exchange student at Blueberry Academy, you’ll be able to complete a variety of Blueberry Quests (BBQs) to earn Blueberry Points (BP). Check out our guide on how to earn and use Blueberry Points to learn about all the cool things you can do with BP at the academy. In addition to those school-related perks, completing BBQs also allows you to encounter familiar Legendary Pokémon from throughout the Pokémon video game series. Once you’ve finished The Indigo Disk’s story, a dapper fellow in a suit will appear at the entrance of Blueberry Academy. This curious character is named Snacksworth, and he has a stash of special snacks that he’s willing to share with you.

Each time you complete 10 solo quests or one group quest for Snacksworth, he’ll reward you with a treat named after a certain Legendary Pokémon. These treats go in the Key Items pocket of your Bag and will cause their respective Legendary Pokémon to appear somewhere in the Paldea region. Pay close attention to the stories Snacksworth tells you when he hands over the snacks—they’re clues about where to find these Legendary Pokémon when you return to Paldea. If you happen to forget the details, you can always chat with Snacksworth again and ask him to repeat his tales of adventure.

Note that Snacksworth will give you different treats for completing group quests from those you can earn through solo quests, so you’ll need to team up with friends through the Union Circle in order to encounter all the Legendary Pokémon described in Snacksworth’s tales.

With snacks in hand, fly from Blueberry Academy to the Paldea region and begin your search. You won’t need to do anything special to activate the treats—their respective Legendary Pokémon will simply be hanging out in their designated locations, waiting for you to approach. These Legendary Pokémon can be tricky to catch, so you may want to disable autosave in the Options menu, then manually save your game before heading into battle. If you happen to accidentally knock out the Pokémon before catching it, don’t worry. The Pokémon will flee, but its treat will remain in your Bag. You’ll then have another chance to encounter the Pokémon in the same location after some time has passed.

Catch Paradox Pokémon during Perrin’s Quest in The Indigo Disk

If you’ve met Perrin in The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 1: The Teal Mask and helped complete her mission to discover the Bloodmoon Beast, you’ll cross paths with the photographer once again at Blueberry Academy. She can be found near Savanna Rest Area 1, which is just beyond the Terarium’s entrance.

Perrin has a new quest for you, but before she shares the details, she’ll ask you to you register 200 Pokémon in your Blueberry Pokédex. This can be a daunting task, though it becomes a bit easier if you contribute BP to the Terarium Club, allowing you to introduce familiar first partner Pokémon originally discovered in other regions to the Terarium’s four biomes.

After you’ve met her lofty requirement, Perrin will show you two photos. These pictures provide hints to the locations of a pair of elusive Paradox Pokémon. If you need to peek at the pictures again, Perrin will be happy to show you, but you can also press the Nintendo Switch console’s Capture Button to snap a screenshot for later reference.

The Paradox Pokémon you can encounter will vary depending on which version of the game you’re playing. Pokémon Scarlet players will meet Gouging Fire and Raging Bolt, while Pokémon Violet players will discover Iron Boulder and Iron Crown. They can all be found in Area Zero, so head back to the Paldea region and begin your trek down into the Great Crater.

Similar to the Legendary Pokémon detailed above, once you’ve seen Perrin’s photos, these Paradox Pokémon will be waiting for you to confront them in their respective locations. They’ll likewise return after a while if you accidentally knock them out in battle—but as always, it may be a good idea to disable autosave and save your game before challenging them.

Catching these Legendary Pokémon and Paradox Pokémon will add some serious power to your team. Enjoy discovering all the secrets contained within The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, Trainers!
