Ash arrives in Ever Grande City with a week to train and prepare for the Hoenn League Championships.  When a flock of Murkrow begin to threaten Ash and Pikachu, Ash tries to use Thunderbolt to frighten them off, but to no avail. Just then another trainer shows up and instructs his Meowth, which he has accessorized with a set of boots, to attack the seeming endless flock. The Murkrow quickly disperse, allowing Ash to get acquainted with yet another rival. After a quick meal prepared by Brock, both trainers head down to watch the final leg of the torch run. Much to their surprise, they are told that the sacred flame has been stolen. With little time before the opening ceremonies, can Ash and friends recover the symbol so central to this competition?
