Return to the Kanto region and experience a classic Pokémon journey in a whole new way with Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! These two titles were created by GAME FREAK, the developers of the Pokémon core RPG titles. Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! introduce a new play style that anyone can enjoy and combine it with the fun of collecting Pokémon.
Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! are based on Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition, which first launched in Japan in 1998. These updated versions reimagine the original to make the most of the unique capabilities of the Nintendo Switch. The games also capture the fun of Pokémon GO and its intuitive Pokémon-catching mechanic.
Befriend Your Partner
At the start of your tale, you encounter either Pikachu or Eevee, depending on which game version you choose. This Pikachu or Eevee joins you as your partner in your adventures, growing together with you on your journey.
Pikachu or Eevee is with you wherever you go, either hanging on your shoulder or riding on your head. Don’t let its adorable expressions fool you into thinking that cuteness is all it offers, though. Your partner is a dependable ally in battle, too.
In addition to determining your first partner Pokémon, your choice of Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! also affects the species of Pokémon you encounter and the rate at which you encounter them.
Partner Pokémon Help Out!
Whether you’re exploring the world of Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! or engaging in a fierce Pokémon battle, your partner Pokémon will prove to be a valuable ally during your adventure. Thanks to Pikachu’s and Eevee’s ability to learn Secret Techniques and exclusive moves, you’ll want to keep these adorable friends with you at all times!
Secret Techniques and Exclusive Moves
Secret Techniques are special skills your partner learns that can be used outside of battle. Clear away troublesome trees with Chop Down, or glide across the water with Sea Skim.
Your partner can also learn some exclusive moves for battle that no other Pokémon can learn. For example, Pikachu can learn the Water-type move Splishy Splash while Eevee can vary its attacks with the Electric-type move Buzzy Buzz, the Fire-type move Sizzly Slide, and more!
Catching Made Easy
The games utilize the capabilities of the Nintendo Switch to add new and more accessible ways to experience Pokémon and play in the Pokémon universe. Even those who have never played the Pokémon series before can dive right in—Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! are easily approachable for newcomers to the series but also have enough depth to keep veteran Trainers on their toes.
The practice of catching Pokémon has been changed dramatically from previous titles. Now you can use a Nintendo Switch Joy-Con to throw a Poké Ball at your target either by pressing a button or flicking your wrist. With easy controls and intuitive action, it’s never been simpler.
The Mythical Pokémon Meltan
A new species of Pokémon has been discovered! This Mythical Pokémon is called Meltan, and there have been many reports of it appearing in Pokémon GO. In fact, Pokémon GO is key to meeting this curious new Pokémon in Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!
In order to catch Meltan in Pokémon GO, you will need a Mystery Box, which is received by sending Pokémon from Pokémon GO to Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! Once the Mystery Box is opened in Pokémon GO, Meltan will begin to appear. Touch a Meltan you see on the field map, and then throw a Poké Ball to catch it!
You can then bring the Meltan you caught in Pokémon GO to the Nintendo Switch games, where it can follow you around during your adventure in the Kanto region. Even if you don’t catch Meltan in Pokémon GO yourself, you can ask a friend to send one that they’ve caught to your Nintendo Switch game.
Melmetal—Meltan’s Evolved Form
Meltan is the first Mythical Pokémon that can evolve. Its evolved form is called Melmetal. Meltan will only evolve into Melmetal in Pokémon GO. To evolve it, you will need 400 Meltan Candies.
You get Meltan Candies in Pokémon GO by doing things like catching Meltan, sending it to Professor Willow, or having Meltan travel around with you as your Buddy Pokémon.
You’ll also get these Candies when you send Meltan from Pokémon GO to Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! Plus, you can also use some other handy shortcuts to speed up Meltan’s Evolution, such as getting more Meltan Candies by trading with friends or using Rare Candies to help you along the way.
You can bring Melmetal you’ve evolved in Pokémon GO into Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! You can also have friends send them to you from their Pokémon GO accounts. Have fun exploring the Kanto region together with Melmetal!
Mega Evolution Is Here!
Mega Evolution is a powerful technique that is making its first appearance in the Kanto region. It’s a way to gain power—beyond even what normal Evolution would grant—by momentarily unleashing the energy within a Pokémon. The might of Mega Evolution can only be accomplished through a strong bond between a Pokémon and its Trainer.
In Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!, you can Mega Evolve certain Pokémon once per battle if you have a Key Stone and a Mega Stone that corresponds to that specific Pokémon. Deciding which Pokémon to Mega Evolve—and when—is a critical factor in deciding who wins a battle.
Alolan Forms of Pokémon
Certain Pokémon have regional variants—the regional variants of the Alola region are known as Alolan forms. If you’ve caught Pokémon in their Alolan form in Pokémon GO, you can bring them over to Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!
Defeat the Master Trainers!
Once you become the Pokémon League Champion, you will find new Master Trainers scattered throughout the Kanto region. Each is considered the strongest Trainer around for a specific Pokémon. Most Master Trainers want to battle, but they will only go up against the species of Pokémon they love. Because these Master Trainer battles are true tests of your and your Pokémon’s strength, neither you nor the Master Trainer can use items during the match.
Best the Master Trainers to earn their titles, proving that you’re also a master of their favorite species. The titles that you earn can even be displayed in-game during Link Battles so your friends can admire your skills.
Play Pokémon Together
Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! also feature two-player simultaneous play. By sharing one of the Joy-Con controllers, two players can adventure at the same time. Throw Poké Balls together when you encounter Pokémon to boost your chances of successfully catching them, or have a friend lend a hand by joining you in battles against Trainers in your game.
Poké Ball Plus
To really capture the Pokémon spirit of these titles, the new Poké Ball Plus accessory allows you to interact with the games like never before. The Poké Ball-shaped device can be used to play Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! in place of a Joy-Con. In addition to having motion controls, the device vibrates, plays sounds, and lights up with a variety of colors. When you try to catch a Pokémon, you feel it moving inside its Poké Ball, and if your catch is successful, you even hear the cry of the Pokémon you just caught. As a controller, the Poké Ball Plus brings a new level of fun and immersion to these games.
But the Poké Ball Plus does more than just function as a controller. Take one of your favorite Pokémon from these games for a stroll in your Poké Ball Plus, and you can bring it with you as you go about your daily life in the real world. You can spend time with your Pokémon even when you’re not playing Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!—and you’ll be rewarded in various ways when you return it to your game.
Plus, the Poké Ball Plus works as a Pokémon GO Plus. That’s a lot of pluses for one little Poké Ball!
Pokémon GO Connection
There is a deep connection between Pokémon GO and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region that have been caught in Pokémon GO can be brought into these two new Nintendo Switch games.
There’s no limit to the number of Pokémon GO accounts that can be tied to a single save file in Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!, which means you can get Pokémon from friends and family, too!
Playing in the GO Park Complex
The GO Park complex in Fuchsia City is where your Pokémon arrive after you’ve synced your Pokémon GO game with Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! If you want to explore the Kanto region with the Pokémon you’ve brought over from Pokémon GO, you’ll need to catch them again in the GO Park complex.
Once you have 25 of the same species of Pokémon in the GO Park complex, you can challenge yourself to a special minigame in the Play Yard, which earns you sweet rewards.
Whether you’re a longtime fan or you’re taking your first steps into the world of Pokémon, Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!, Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!, and the Poké Ball Plus provide a captivating way to experience the adventure.
