Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl

The Sinnoh region is calling in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl, a pair of role-playing game adventures for Nintendo Switch. Developed by ILCA, Inc. and directed by Junichi Masuda of GAME FREAK and Yuichi Ueda of ILCA, these games are updates of the classic Nintendo DS titles Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl.

The original story has been faithfully reproduced, and you’ll encounter the Pokémon that appeared in those nostalgic titles. These remakes feature updates like player-friendly conveniences of the modern Pokémon video game series and up-close-and-personal Pokémon battle scenes.

Choose Turtwig, Chimchar, or Piplup to be your first partner Pokémon and then set off on your journey. You’ll discover the Sinnoh region is rich in nature and filled with enticing myths that have been passed down through the ages. With the towering Mount Coronet at its heart, you’ll visit many different locations in the region while you strive to become the Champion of the Pokémon League. And you might even cross paths with the Legendary Pokémon Dialga or Palkia.

Speaking of Legendary Pokémon, new to this release is Ramanas Park, a facility you can visit after entering the Hall of Fame, where you’ll be able to encounter a variety of Legendary Pokémon like Mewtwo, Rayquaza, and more. Inside the rooms of Ramanas Park are pedestals, and it’s said that if you insert a slate into its corresponding pedestal, a Legendary Pokémon will appear. It’s unclear exactly how these slates can be obtained, so you’ll have to do some research as you explore the Sinnoh region.

Whether you’re a longtime fan who’s revisiting familiar places or a first-time explorer of Sinnoh, you’ll find plenty of fun and excitement in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl.
