Pokémon GO and Pokémon Journeys: The Series Collide in an Event Featuring Lugia That Know Aeroblast, Shiny Cubone, and More

Animation Week 2020 takes place through November 12 and features themed encounters, raids, and research.

Fans of Pokémon Journeys: The Series and Pokémon GO are in for a treat as the Pokémon worlds of animation and mobile gaming collide in a crossover event. From Friday, November 6, 2020, at 8:00 a.m. to Thursday, November 12, 2020, at 10:00 p.m. local time, Trainers can encounter Pokémon Ash and Goh have caught, rescued, trained, and interacted with in the animated series. Ivysaur, Pinsir, Snorlax, and Golurk will be appearing in raids, while Bulbasaur, Exeggcute, Cubone, Scyther, Dratini, and Cyndaquil will be appearing more frequently in the wild.

Who could forget the epic moment when Ash and Goh caught a ride on Lugia, solidifying their friendship, in the episode “Legend? Go! Friends? Go!” from the latest season of Pokémon the Series? In tribute to that moment, Trainers can challenge Lugia that know Aeroblast in five-star raids during the event. Trainers can also expect to see more Riolu hatching from Eggs as a nod to “Caring for a Mystery!”, which featured a Riolu hatching from an Egg. Trainers can go on their very own journey mirroring Ash and Goh’s adventures with Timed Research featuring Pokémon the two friends have met along the way. Field Research will also feature encounters with Pokémon from across the animated series.

During this event, World Cap Pikachu will be appearing in the wild. Plus, Goh-inspired avatar items will be available in the Style Shop at no cost, and Goh may make a surprise appearance in your snapshots.

If you haven’t yet watched Pokémon Journeys: The Series, you can see the first episode on Pokémon TV at no cost. The first 24 episodes are also currently available on Netflix.
