Mega Manectric, Tynamo, and Therian Forme Thundurus to Appear in Pokémon GO

Catch, evolve, and power up Electric-type Pokémon aplenty in the upcoming Charge Up event.

If Electric-type Pokémon get you amped up, then Pokémon GO's Charge Up event will be a true shocker indeed. From Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, March 22, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time, you can join the celebration by catching, evolving, and powering up Electric-type Pokémon. The Charge Up event will also give you the chance to encounter Mega Manectric and the EleFish Pokémon, Tynamo, who are making their Pokémon GO debut alongside Therian Forme Thundurus.

During this event, a surge of Electric-type Pokémon will be appearing in the wild, including Alolan Geodude, Voltorb, Electrike, Tynamo, and Stunfisk. Likewise, Electric-type Pokémon like Pichu, Elekid, Electrike, Shinx, Joltik, Tynamo, and Stunfisk will be hatching from 5 km Eggs.

Of course, Raid Battles will largely feature Electric-type Pokémon as well.

  • One-star Raid Battles – Voltorb, Shinx, Blitzle, Klink, and Tynamo

  • Three-star Raid Battles – Alolan Raichu, Alolan Graveler, Magneton, and Ampharos

  • Five-star Raid Battles – Therian Forme Thundurus

  • Mega Raids – Mega Houndoom, Mega Manectric, and Mega Abomasnow

Don't forget to check out the event-exclusive research tasks that will be available during the event. Completing Field Research will net you rewards like Poké Balls, Ampharos Mega Energy, Manectric Mega Energy, encounters with Electric-type Pokémon, and more. Timed Research centered around evolving and powering up Electric-type Pokémon will also be available, and you'll have a higher chance of receiving Evolution items when opening Gifts during the event period.
