Luminous Legends X Introduces Xerneas to Pokémon GO

From May 4 to 17, catch Pokémon like Spritzee, Swirlix, and Goomy, complete themed research, and try out a new type of Lure Module.

Breathe some new life into your Pokémon GO Pokédex with the Life Pokémon, Xerneas! This Fairy-type Legendary Pokémon is making its Pokémon GO debut during Luminous Legends X, an exciting event taking place from Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, May 17, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Xerneas will be appearing in five-star raids during the event, while other Dragon-type and Fairy-type Pokémon originally discovered in the Kalos region—like Spritzee, Swirlix, and Goomy—will be appearing for the first time in Pokémon GO as wild encounters.

During the Luminous Legends X event, you can complete Timed Research to earn encounters with Fairy-type Pokémon such as Spritzee and Swirlix. You’ll also have the chance to earn Rainy Lure Modules, a new type of Lure Module making its debut during the event that can be used to attract Pokémon that enjoy rainy weather—like Water-type, Bug-type, and Electric-type Pokémon. Some Field Research tasks will offer encounters with Dragon-type or Fairy-type Pokémon like Gible, Spritzee, and Swirlix.

By working with your fellow Trainers to collectively catch a certain number of Fairy-Type Pokémon during the first half of the event, you can together unlock some exciting rewards during the second half of Luminous Legends X! If the goal is met, the following three rewards will be available from Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, May 17, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

  • A 3× Catch XP bonus will be active.

  • Lucky Trainers may encounter a Shiny Galarian Ponyta!

  • Pancham, the Playful Pokémon, will make its Pokémon GO debut in raids.

During the Luminous Legends X event, the following Pokémon will be hatching from 7 km Eggs: Cleffa, Igglybuff, Azurill, Gible, Spritzee, and Swirlix. And in raids, Xerneas will be joined by Dragon-type and Fairy-type Pokémon like Alolan Exeggutor and more.

If you evolve Dragonair or use a Charged TM on Dragonite during the event, you can get a Dragonite that knows the powerful Dragon-type attack Draco Meteor. You can also evolve Shelgon or use a Charged TM on Salamence to get a Salamence that knows the powerful Dragon-Type attack Outrage.

As if all of that wasn’t enough, the Luminous Legends X event will be followed by the Luminous Legends Y event, during which the Legendary Pokémon Yveltal will be making its Pokémon GO debut! You can look forward to more information on that event soon.

Keep shining bright, Trainers!
