Whether you’re battling your friends in Trainer Battles or teaming up with them in Raid Battles or Gym battles, battling Pokémon is already a huge part of Pokémon GO. But soon, Trainers will be able to take their battles to another level when Niantic builds upon Pokémon GO Trainer Battles with the GO Battle League.

The GO Battle League will encourage players to get out and explore the world with Pokémon and will test players’ skills in battle, too. Trainers will be able to walk to earn entry into the GO Battle League, where they can battle opponents from around the globe through an online matching system and try to rise in the ranks of the league. Trainers will have something extra to shoot for in their future battles.
