Galarian Zigzagoon may be adorable, but the Tiny Raccoon Pokémon is known for constantly running around—especially into fights with other Pokémon. This Dark- and Normal-type Pokémon originally discovered in the Galar region is bringing that restless energy to Pokémon GO’s August Community Day event on August 13, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. local time. Throughout the day, Galarian Zigzagoon will appear more frequently in the wild. If you’re lucky, you might even find a Shiny one! Plus, if you evolve Galarian Linoone (Galarian Zigzagoon’s Evolution) into Obstagoon during the event or up to five hours afterward, that Obstagoon will know Obstruct—a Dark-type Charged Attack making its Pokémon GO debut!
August Community Day will also feature additional bonuses, offering plenty of incentives to power up Obstagoon—a popular choice in the GO Battle League’s Great League and Ultra League—and see for yourself how well the Blocking Pokémon obstructs its opponents. Incense and Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours, and you’ll earn three times the Stardust and twice as much XP and Candy for catching Pokémon. You’ll also receive twice as much Candy for transferring Pokémon. Plus, you’ll have double the chance of getting Zigzagoon Candy XL when you catch Galarian Zigzagoon.
Find a buddy to trade with before the event ends to take advantage of special event trade bonuses. Trainers can make two additional Special Trades during the event for a maximum of four Special Trades per day. Better still, any trades made during the event cost 75% less Stardust, making it the perfect time to coordinate Special Trades with a high Stardust cost.
Tickets for a Galarian Zigzagoon Community Day–exclusive Special Research story titled Field Notes: Galarian Zigzagoon will be available for US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency). Remember that you can treat a friend to a Special Research ticket by tapping the Special Research ticket in the in-game shop, then tapping the Gift button. Certain restrictions apply.
You’ll also be able to extend your August Community Day experience by participating in four-star raids. On August 13, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time, look for blue-colored Eggs appearing on top of Gyms to take on Galarian Linoone. Defeating Galarian Linoone in a Raid Battle will cause Galarian Zigzagoon to appear in the wild in a 300-meter radius of the Gym for the next 30 minutes. These four-star raids are not accessible via Remote Raid Passes and can only be accessed with Raid Passes or Premium Battle Passes.
