A Very Slow Discovery Introduces Galarian Slowpoke to Pokémon GO

The Dopey Pokémon brings a relaxed attitude to a slow-paced event.

Go on a relaxed adventure in Pokémon GO with the A Very Slow Discovery event, taking place ever so leisurely from Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, June 13, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. local time. Galarian Slowpoke will be making its Pokémon GO debut during this event, and you’ll also be able to evolve Galarian Slowpoke into Galarian Slowbro, allowing you to add both these Pokémon to your Pokédex. Galarian Slowking will be coming to Pokémon GO eventually, but befitting a Pokémon that likes to operate at its own tempo, its arrival will be delayed.

Mega Slowbro will also be making its Pokémon GO debut, appearing in Mega Raids during the event. You can also complete event-exclusive Field Research tasks to earn Slowbro Mega Energy. Complete the Slowpoke-themed Collection Challenge to earn an exclusive Slowpoke Forever Shirt avatar item, 30 Ultra Balls, and 3,000 XP.

Some other Pokémon known to appreciate a slower pace will also be featured during the event. Slakoth, Gulpin, and Spoink will be appearing more frequently in the wild, and if you’re lucky, you might even find a Slowbro or Vigoroth out there, too! Themed Pokémon will also be appearing in one- and three-star raids throughout the event.

You’ll be able to pick up an event-exclusive box containing 20 Poké Balls, 10 Great Balls, and 1 King’s Rock at no cost in the in-game shop. And if you just can’t get enough Slowpoke, the shop will also be carrying Slowpoke-inspired avatar items, and you’ll be able to spin PokéStops and open Gifts from friends during the event to collect Slowpoke-themed Gift stickers.

Take it easy, Trainers!
