The Midseason Showdowns give Pokémon video game players more opportunities to earn Championship Points and to test their skills in preparation for larger events.
In the 2019 season, Midseason Showdowns will typically only occur during the middle month of a series, unless they are featured as a side event at larger tournaments like Regional Championships or special conventions.

The Best Finish Limit for the 2019 Pokémon VG Midseason Showdowns is 2 per series.
Sun Series: September 4, 2018, through January 7, 2019
Moon Series: January 8 through April 1, 2019
Ultra Series: April 2 through June 23, 2019

Midseason Showdowns counting toward travel awards to the Oceania International Championships will primarily take place in October, during the Sun series.
Midseason Showdowns counting toward travel awards to the Europe International Championships will primarily take place in December, during the Sun series.
Midseason Showdowns counting toward travel awards to the North America International Championships will primarily take place in March, during the Moon series.
Further Midseason Showdowns counting toward the 2019 Pokémon World Championships will take place in May, during the Ultra series.
Additional Midseason Showdowns will also be run at most Regional Championships and select Special Championships outside of these timeframes.
