  4. This is the VGC 2020 Sword & Shield grassroots portion of the annual Rutgers Esports' Fireside Open. Details regarding the event (not the tournament) can be found through the Facebook event page.

    This tournament will start after the conclusion of the premier challenge

    This tournament will be a Best of 3 Swiss tournament with top cut, following the Ranked Battles Series #1 ruleset, which can be found here: https://battle.pokemon-home.com/regulation/000001012/en

    "Battle format: Doubles
    Eligible Pokémon:
    You may not use any Gigantamax Pokémon. You may not use any Legendary or Mythical Pokémon.

    Pokémon in your current team or registered to your Battle Team:
    All Pokémon will have their level automatically set to Lv. 50 during battles.

    Eligible Pokémon are restricted to those that you caught, hatched from Eggs, or received as a Mystery Gift in: Pokémon Sword Pokémon Shield

    You cannot use any items except those that can be obtained through regular gameplay (including related functions of games released by The Pokémon Company and Nintendo) or that have been awarded as part of a public distribution or special event.

    You may give your Pokémon items to hold in this competition. However, no two Pokémon that will participate in the competition can hold the same item.

    Battle Times:
    Your Time: Max 10 minutes
    Selection Time: Each Trainer gets 90 seconds to select Pokémon.
    Turn Time: Each Trainer gets 60 seconds to select an action each turn."
