Play! Pokémon Event Hosting Requirements

The requirements to host Play! Pokémon events differ by the type of event.

If you want to run event and don't already have a Play! Pokémon account, please create one. Once you have an account, follow these steps to become an organizer.

Pokémon League

To apply for a Pokémon League, you will first need to apply and be accepted into the Pokémon Professor program with the Organizer certification. This certification will allow you to sanction official Tournaments, as well as start the Pokémon League application process.

  • Please note that each application is reviewed, and that applying does not guarantee acceptance.

  • Only one League may exist per venue, and attempts to create a Pokémon League in a location that already hosts one will be denied.

Prerelease Tournaments (Pokémon TCG)

Pokémon Prerelease tournament events are available to qualified locations that are located in a game store or hobby shop, are currently running a Pokémon League, and has an active Professor who is a certified Organizer in good standing. Your League will need to show consistent and accurate League activity each month to be considered for approval. If you are interested in running Prerelease events and meet these requirements, please contact retail support.
