Pokémon and Team GO Rocket Abound During Pokémon GO’s Let’s GO Event

Encounter Shiny Meltan, help Shadow Pokémon forget Frustration, and defeat Giovanni to save Shadow Regice.

Looking for a reason to get out and GO? During Pokémon GO’s Let’s GO event, Pansage, Pansear, and Panpour will appear all over the world both in the wild and in Field Research tasks. If you have yet to catch one of these elusive Pokémon, now’s the time to add one to your Pokédex. Ditto will also appear more often during the event disguised as the following Pokémon: Diglett, Grimer, Snubbull, Corphish, Starly, Roggenrola, Tympole, and Litleo. You might even find a Shiny Ditto—if you’re lucky!

What’s more, you may even encounter Shiny Meltan during the Let’s GO event. When you use the Mystery Box between Tuesday, March 21, at 10:00 a.m. to Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. local time, Shiny Meltan has a chance of appearing—if you’re lucky. Trainers will be able to use the Mystery Box more often than usual, and there’ll be an increased chance of encountering XXS and XXL Meltan during the event. In order to use the Mystery Box, you’ll need to transfer Pokémon from Pokémon GO to Pokémon HOME or the Nintendo Switch games Pokémon: Let’s GO, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s GO, Eevee!

You’ll also earn double the Candy for transferring Pokémon during the event.

Team GO Rocket Takeover

Team GO Rocket is back to their dastardly schemes and will be staging a takeover from Saturday, March 25, at 10:00 a.m. to Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Complete a new Special Research story to obtain a Super Rocket Radar, then defeat Giovanni and save Shadow Regice. The Special Research story will be available to claim until the end of the Season on June 1, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. local time.

During the takeover, a Field Research task will be available that awards a Mysterious Component. You can use this opportunity to snag lots of Mysterious Components, build Rocket Radars, and take on the Team GO Rocket Leaders!

Team GO Rocket Grunts will also appear more frequently at PokéStops and in balloons. But these feisty fiends will be using an all-new roster of Shadow Pokémon, so you’ll need to retool your teams to take on opponents such as Shadow Alolan Grimer, Shadow Phanpy, Shadow Treecko, Shadow Torchic, and Shadow Drifloon. If you’re lucky, you may even have the chance to rescue a Shiny Pokémon from one of these nefarious foes.

This event also offers a rare opportunity to use a Charged TM to help Shadow Pokémon forget the Charged Attack Frustration.

As usual, you’ll be able to obtain 12 km Eggs by besting Team GO Rocket Leaders. The following Pokémon will hatch from 12 km Eggs obtained during the event.

  • Larvitar

  • Absol

  • Skorupi

  • Sandile

  • Scraggy

  • Pawniard

  • Vullaby

  • Deino

  • Pancham

  • Skrelp

  • Salandit

Best of luck as you catch these Pokémon and tackle the takeover, Trainers!
