Meowscarada and Holiday Events Are Now Available in Pokémon UNITE

Deceive opponents with tricks and traps before dazzling them with a Floral Flourish—and enjoy some fun holiday goodies.

It’s no illusion—Meowscarada has joined the fray in Pokémon UNITE! This Grass- and Dark-type Pokémon is the final Evolution of Sprigatito, one of three first partner Pokémon originally discovered in the Paldea region. Now, this Melee Speedster has revealed itself on Aeos Island. Starting each match as Sprigatito, this Pokémon evolves into Floragato at Lv. 4, and then into Meowscarada at Lv. 6.

From December 7, 2023, to January 10, 2024, you’ll be able to obtain Meowscarada in the Meowscarada’s Flower Petal Challenge event. By completing missions to collect 100 petals in each of four colors, you can receive Meowscarada’s Unite license. Once the event ends, you’ll be able to get the license in exchange for 1,200 Aeos gems.

Read on to learn more about the magic Meowscarada brings to Unite Battles.

Meowscarada Basics

  • Ability: Overgrow
When this Pokémon takes damage that reduces it to half its max HP or less, it temporarily disappears into leaves. For a short time after that, the Pokémon’s movement speed and damage dealt increase, and each time the Pokémon deals damage to opposing Pokémon, it recovers HP. This Ability goes on cooldown after it’s triggered.

  • Basic Attack
Whenever a set amount of time passes, this Pokémon’s next basic attack becomes a boosted attack. Boosted attacks have the user leap at opposing Pokémon and deal additional damage.

Lv. 1 & 3 Moves

  • Leafage
Sprigatito shoots out leaves that deal damage to opposing Pokémon they hit and decrease their movement speed.

  • Hone Claws
Sprigatito sharpens its claws while moving, increasing the speed and damage of its next three basic attacks.

Lv. 6 Moves

  • Flower Trick
Meowscarada attaches a flower bomb to an opposing Pokémon. The flower bomb can be detonated at will if the move is used again, and when it explodes, it deals damage based on the percentage of HP the opposing Pokémon has lost. If Meowscarada deals damage to an opposing Pokémon that has a flower bomb attached to it, the explosion’s area of effect is increased, and it deals increased damage. If Meowscarada knocks out an opposing Pokémon with this move, the move’s cooldown is reset. Flower Trick can be upgraded to increase the explosion’s area of effect and increase the user’s movement speed after this move is used.

  • Night Slash
Meowscarada throws slashing waves with its claws, dealing damage and applying a mark to opposing Pokémon the slashing waves hit. Meowscarada’s basic attacks have an increased critical-hit rate on marked opposing Pokémon. When Meowscarada deals damage to marked opposing Pokémon with basic attacks, this move’s cooldown is reduced, and the user recovers HP. Night Slash can be upgraded to increase critical-hit rate and HP recovery.

Lv. 7 Moves

  • Double Team
Meowscarada creates an illusory copy of itself while dashing to befuddle opposing Pokémon. If this move is used again, Meowscarada swaps places with the illusory copy. When this swap happens, or when the illusory copy’s HP drops to 0, flower petals are scattered around, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon and leaving them unable to act for a short time. Double Team can be upgraded to increase the time that the illusory copy remains before disappearing. The upgrade will also decrease the damage taken by the illusory copy.

  • Trailblaze
Meowscarada leaps to the designated location, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon it hits and leaving them paralyzed. If Meowscarada hits opposing Pokémon with this move, its basic attack speed and movement speed increase for a short time. When Meowscarada is in tall grass, this move’s range increases. If Meowscarada knocks out an opposing Pokémon or makes an assist, this move’s cooldown is reset. Trailblaze can be upgraded to grant the user a shield when this move is used.

Meowscarada’s Unite Move, Floral Flourish

  • Meowscarada moves instantly to the designated location, creating a whirlwind of flowers around itself that continually deals damage to opposing Pokémon. While using this move, Meowscarada cannot use other attacks, and the move can be canceled if it is used again.
