Kanto Shines in Pokémon GO’s Adamant Time Event

Kanto Shines in Pokémon GO’s Adamant Time Event

Pay homage to Pokémon GO circa 2016 with Pokémon first discovered in Kanto.

Party like it’s 2016 with Pokémon GO’s Adamant Time event, which takes place from December 11 at 10:00 a.m. to December 15, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Kanto’s making a comeback—not that it needed one—with Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region appearing more frequently in the wild. Catch Krabby, pick up a Ponyta (or several), and visit Vulpix and Voltorb while enjoying triple XP for catching Pokémon throughout the event.

Fans of the deceptive Ditto will be delighted to discover that the Transform Pokémon will be masquerading as different Pokémon throughout the event, so be sure to take a closer look at any Oddish, Koffing, Rhyhorn, or Goldeen that you encounter in the wild. And your lucky streak continues as the number of guaranteed Lucky Pokémon a Trainer can receive in a trade has increased from 15 to 25. If you receive a Pokémon in a trade that has been in a Trainer’s Pokémon Storage since 2018, that Pokémon will become a Lucky Pokémon until you hit the 25 guaranteed Lucky Pokémon limit!

Make time for research with Special Research, Field Research, and Timed Research opportunities. In the Timeless Travels Special Research story, Professor Willow once again solicits your assistance, this time asking for help uncovering the legends of the Hisui region. Seasonal Timed Research focused on acquiring XP offers a potential opportunity for one final level up before 2023 draws to a close—you can celebrate your level milestones with rewards for reaching Level 10, Level 20, Level 30, and Level 40. This Timed Research expires December 31, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. local time, so make the most of the XP bonanza while you can. And keep an eye out for yet another Timed Research track focused on adding friends, which awards XP, Stardust, and Ultra Balls.
