The battle-blazing Trial Captain of Akala Island’s Wela Volcano Park returns with an iconic Fire-type partner originally from the Kanto region. Kiawe & Arcanine are a Fire-type tech sync pair that can lower the Sp. Atk of burned opponents with their Hit Burned Opp: Sp. Atk ↓9 passive skill and lower the Sp. Def of trapped opponents with Hit Trapped Opp: Sp. Def ↓9. With Kiawe & Arcanine’s handy Extend Range passive skill, you can burn and trap all opposing sync pairs and reduce their Sp. Atk and Sp. Def with searing speed.

    This Fire-type strike sync pair is a powerful damage dealer that can choose to focus on doling out either physical damage or special damage. When teamed up with Kiawe & Arcanine, Silver & Ho-Oh’s Overheat and Solar Beam benefit from Kiawe & Arcanine’s Sp. Def–dropping passive skill. However, Silver & Ho-Oh’s sync move, Power-Hungry Sacred Fire, does physical damage, so use Kiawe & Arcanine’s Dancing Together Inferno Overdrive to truly maximize an opponent’s minimized Sp. Def—toss in a use of Come On By! to really heat this strategy up. Silver & Ho-Oh can be obtained after completing Pure Hearts and Rainbow Wings in the Legendary Adventures portion of the main story.
