2022 Pokémon World Championships Schedule

Doors open at 8 a.m. each day from Thursday, August 18, through Saturday, August 20. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 21.

All Pokémon TCG and VGC final matches will be played on the main stage on Sunday, August 21. Side events will take place during all four days of the World Championships.

All times are approximate and subject to change.


Pokémon TCG


Wednesday, August 17

5–8 p.m. Welcome Kit pickup and check-in
8 p.m. Deadline to submit online deck lists for Day 1 players

Thursday, August 18

8 a.m. Doors open
9 a.m. Opening ceremony
9:45 a.m. Day 1 players seated for Round 1 of Swiss

A lunch break will occur
7:30 p.m. Estimated finish time for TCG Junior and Senior Divisions
8:45 p.m. Estimated finish time for TCG Masters Division

Friday, August 19

8 a.m. Doors open
8:45 a.m. Round 1 pairings posted for Day 2 players
9 a.m. Up to 9 rounds of Swiss. Records equal to 8th place at the end of Swiss will advance to Top Cut.

A lunch break will occur
8 p.m. Estimated finish time for TCG Junior and Senior Divisions
9:15 p.m. Estimated finish time for TCG Masters Division

*If there are 227 players or more, 9 rounds of Swiss will be played on Friday, August 19. Every player with 19 or more match points or the Top 32 ranked players (whichever number is greater) will advance. On Saturday, August 20, 5 additional rounds of Swiss will be played. Anyone who has a record equal to 8th place or better will advance to Top Cut.

9 a.m. Single-elimination Top Cut will be played until 2 players remain

2 p.m. Estimated finish time for TCG Junior and Senior Divisions
7 p.m. Estimated finish time for TCG Masters Division

*Schedule is subject to change. If the schedule runs behind on Friday, some Swiss rounds may be played on Saturday.


Pokémon VGC


Wednesday, August 17

5–8 p.m. Welcome Kit pickup and check-in, Battle Team locking for Day 1 players
8 p.m. Deadline to submit online team lists

8 a.m. Doors open
9 a.m. Opening ceremony
9:30 a.m. Day 1 players seated for Round 1 of Swiss

A lunch break will occur
5 p.m. Estimated finish time for VGC Junior and Senior Divisions
8 p.m. Estimated finish time for VGC Masters Division

Friday, August 19

8 a.m. Doors open. Players need to be in line by 8:15 a.m. in the VGC tournament area to have Battle Teams locked.
9 a.m. Up to 9 rounds of Swiss. At the end of Swiss, players with 2 or fewer losses and no ties will advance to Top Cut.

A lunch break will occur
5 p.m. Estimated finish time for VGC Junior and Senior Divisions
6 p.m. Estimated finish time for VGC Masters Divisions

Saturday, August 20

8 a.m. Doors open
8:45 a.m. Players seated for Top Cut
9 a.m. Single-elimination Top Cut will be played until 2 players remain

12 p.m. Estimated finish time for VGC Junior and Senior Divisions
3 p.m. Estimated finish time for VGC Masters Division
