Get started in the world of competitive Pokémon TCG play at League Challenge tournaments. These events are small, entry-level events on a local scale.
League Challenge events are open to all players. Some League Challenges may have special promotions and may require entry fees at the Tournament Organizer's discretion. Players need to bring their own legal 60-card deck. See the tournament listings for details on promotions and entry fees.

2020 Pokémon TCG League Challenge events
2020 League Challenge events will typically be held once per month at select Pokémon League locations. These tournaments may use the Standard or Expanded format, at the Organizer's discretion. Check the tournament listing in the event locator or contact the Tournament Organizer prior to the tournament to find out the format.
League Challenge events consist of only Swiss rounds; there is no top cut to single-elimination rounds.

All participants will receive 1 Play! Point just for playing, and the top four players in each age division will win a special promo card.

*Championship Point values subject to change.
Pokémon TCG Challenges
At some events, like Regional Championships, Pokémon TCG Challenges will take place. These events will have the same Championship Point awards as a League Challenge, but will not distribute promo cards or other prizes typically found at a League Challenge.
