Play! Points

Play! Points are awarded to players for simply doing what they love: playing Pokémon. Players earn Play! Points at every sanctioned Pokémon tournament or League Season they participate in. Larger events such as Championship Series competitions award even more Play! Points.

Play! Points differ from Championship Points because they reward players just for playing, while Championship Points reward players for high placement at tournaments. In exceptional circumstances, Play! Points are used to break Championship Point ties, such as when Play! Pokémon is determining Travel Awards or World Championships invites.

Play! Points will be awarded only to players who complete at least two rounds of a tournament. Any byes do not count toward this two-round total. Forced losses for late arrival do not count toward the two-round total, either.

To earn Play! Points, set up a Pokémon Trainer Club account with a Play! Pokémon Player ID, set your preferences to opt in to Play! Pokémon programs, and then participate in Pokémon Leagues and tournaments. Please note that players must choose whether to earn Play! Points for the Pokémon TCG, video game, or Pokémon GO, as points can only be allocated to a single game for tiebreaking purposes.

Players must select their Play! Points option in their Pokémon Trainer Club account by June 20, 2025, for Play! Points to be considered for Championship Point tiebreakers in the 2025 Pokémon Championship Series season. Play! Points are retroactively added to Pokémon Trainer Club accounts once a game is selected.
