Join the Global Battle Union!
26 May, 2011 in Video Games
Visit the Pokémon Global Link and learn about a cool way to keep track of your Wi-Fi Battles!
Check out the Global Battle Union, an incredible feature of the Pokémon Global Link! When you use the Global Battle Union, you have at your fingertips a complete review of your performance in Random Matchups that you've played in your Pokémon Black Version or Pokémon White Version game. Whether you're looking to brush up before a big Pokémon Video Game Championships event, or if you just want to challenge yourself a little, the Global Battle Union is helpful for every Trainer! You'll need to register the Game Sync ID of your Pokémon Black Version or Pokémon White Version game before your Wi-Fi Battles will be recorded, so be sure to sync your game at www.pokemon.com/pgl before battling online for the first time!
Get Ready to Battle!
To compete in Wi-Fi Battles in your Pokémon Black Version or Pokémon White Version game, head into any Pokémon Center. Go upstairs and talk to the receptionist on the right (next to the globe). She'll invite you to play a Random Matchup and let you decide what kind of battle you want to compete in. You can choose a Single, Double, Triple, Rotation, or Launcher Battle. After you decide how you want to play, you'll be connected to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and matched against another Pokémon Trainer from anywhere in the world! When the battle is over, you'll need to wait a moment while your record is updated. If you disconnect from Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection before the match is over, the results will not be recorded.
Join the Ranks!
Once you're done battling, visit www.pokemon.com/pgl and check out the Global Battle Union. There, you can use the Rankings system, a running score of your skill in Wi-Fi Battles. It works like this: You start with a Rating score of 1,500; after every match, your Rating will go up or down depending on how well you played, based on a number of factors. On your Details page, you can see what your Ranking is for each battle type you've played. Unlike your battle records, the changes to your Ranking will take a little while to show up on the Pokémon Global Link site.
If you're one of the top Trainers in the world, you might even appear on the leaderboards on the Ranking Season page! The leaderboards are updated once a week. You can see how the Rankings have changed by the little arrows in each box. If an arrow is green, that Trainer's position is unchanged; if it's orange, the Ranking has improved; and if it's blue, the Ranking has gone down. Challenge yourself to get better in every type of battle!
For the Win!
In addition to the Rankings system, the Global Battle Union is a convenient place to see your overall records in each battle style. To view your own battle records, click the Details button at the bottom right. There you'll see your win-loss record for each kind of battle you've participated in. Plus, details of your last six Wi-Fi Battles will appear so you can get more information on your most recent challenges.
Keep Playing!
As you can see, there's a lot to the Global Battle Union for any kind of Pokémon Trainer. And there are even more amazing features to come for the Global Battle Union, too, including organized competitions! Keep visiting www.pokemon.com/pgl for details on upcoming events and more information on the Global Battle Union!
