That's All from the National Championships!
07 July, 2013 in Play! Pokémon
Congratulations to our new champions and to everyone who came and made this the biggest Nationals ever!
The 2013 U.S. National Championships featured three straight days of the biggest Pokémon fun in the world! Thousands of Pokémon fans filled the Indiana Convention Center to play and watch the action. Once again, the National Championships broke a participation record, with over 2,100 players competing in Pokémon TCG and video game main events. In addition, well over 700 side events were held during the weekend, with loads of awesome prizes on the line.
The final battles on Sunday took place on center stage, with matches displayed on a large overhead screen for all to see. The competitors wore noise-canceling headphones to allow them to play without distraction, but that didn't stop spectators from loudly cheering on their favorite players. And in the end, three Pokémon TCG players and three video game players left the Indiana Convention Center with the title of National Champion!
The festive atmosphere provided by the main tournaments, the side events, and the fans everywhere made the 2013 National Championships a huge success. Thanks again to the Pokémon Trainers who demonstrated amazing sportsmanship and fair play!
