Pokémon TCG Autumn Regional Championships

The Pokémon Video Game Spring Regional Championships will be held on the weekends of May 16, May 23, and May 30, 2015. These two-day events will feature the Pokémon Trading Card Game and video games. The Video Game Regionals typically occur on Sunday, with registration in the early morning. Please view each specific event for full details and to confirm the start date for the video game event.

What games will be played?

The VG Spring Regional Championships will feature the Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire video games.

How will a winner be determined?

All Pokémon VG Spring Regional Championships will use the following methods to determine a champion:

  • Age-Modified Swiss pairings, single-game matches

  • A cut to single-elimination finals, attendance permitting

    • Single-elimination finals will be run as best-of-three matches

Are there any requirements for attendance?

The Spring Regional Championships do not require an invitation or qualification. All players in good standing are welcome to participate. Players must bring their own system in the Nintendo 3DS family, Pokémon Omega Ruby or Pokémon Alpha Sapphire Game Card or downloadable version, and charger.

What are the prizes?

Prizes are awarded to the top players in each of three age divisions. Players must have a Pokémon Trainer Club account with a Player ID attached and must have opted in to the Play! Pokémon program in order to earn points and awards.

All participants will receive 3 Play! Points and a Pokémon Regional Championships promo card (while supplies last), just for playing!

How do I qualify for Worlds?

Top players in each age division will qualify for the 2015 Pokémon Video Game World Championships based on their final Championship Point totals at the end of the season. Check here for more detailed Worlds information.

Each Regional Championships will have the following prizes for each age division:

1st Place

  • A Pokémon VG Regional Championships 1st Place award

  • A Nintendo 3DS XL system

  • A combination of 72 booster packs from current Pokémon TCG expansions

  • 120 Championship Points

2nd Place

  • A Pokémon VG Regional Championships 2nd Place award

  • A combination of 72 booster packs from current Pokémon TCG expansions

  • 100 Championship Points

3rd and 4th Place

  • A Pokémon VG Regional Championships 3rd or 4th Place award

  • A combination of 36 booster packs from current Pokémon TCG expansions

  • 80 Championship Points

5th Place through 8th Place

  • A combination of 18 booster packs from current Pokémon TCG expansions

  • 60 Championship Points

9th Place through 16th Place

  • A combination of 9 booster packs from current Pokémon TCG expansions

  • 40 Championship Points

17th Place through 32nd Place

  • 30 Championship Points (if division attendance is 64 or greater)

33rd Place through 64th Place

  • 20 Championship Points (if division attendance is 128 or greater)

65th Place through 128th Place

  • 10 Championship Points (if division attendance is 256 or greater)
