US Pokémon Video Game National Championships Tournament Schedule and Information

Player check-in will begin on Thursday and continue at various times throughout the weekend. Players who have registered online and have confirmed that their names are on the confirmation list do not need to check in prior to their players meeting. However, they will need to check in at some point during the weekend to receive their Nationals registration items.

  • All Masters players with a record of two or fewer losses, with zero ties, will advance to Top Cut. Masters will play down to the Top-4 following Swiss rounds.

  • All Junior and Senior players with a record of two or fewer losses, with zero ties, will advance to Top Cut on Sunday.

ALL players must be checked in and ready to play by 11 a.m. or they will forfeit their first game. Players not in their seats by 11:10 a.m. will forfeit their second game, and thereby, the match.

Tournament Format

All matches will be best-of-three in Standard format.

Players are not permitted to intentionally draw a game or match. All draws must be reviewed by a Judge.

Pokémon must be placed in the Battle Box.

Players will have 90 seconds to view their opponent's team and select their Pokémon.

Players will have 45 seconds allocated per turn to select moves or retreat Pokémon.

Each game has a time limit of 15 minutes.

Only Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire Game Cards or downloadable versions are permitted for use.

Players will compete in the Double Battle format.

A player's team cannot contain two Pokémon with the same Pokédex number.

Each Pokémon on a player's team can hold an item, though no two Pokémon may hold the same item.

Pokémon are allowed to Mega Evolve.

Pokémon may not hold the item Soul Dew

Pokémon above Lv. 50 are permitted, but they are auto-leveled down to Lv. 50 for the duration of battle.
