Handle With Care! Discovering Pokémon Eggs, Part 2

Sep 30, 2009 in Video Games

Find out how to discover a special group of Pokémon Eggs.

In the first article on Pokémon Eggs, we explained all of the basics of what a Pokémon Egg is and how to discover one. It’s a pretty complex process, so if you haven’t read Part 1, we suggest you do so before reading on.
In this article we’re going to discuss a special group of Pokémon that can only be discovered under certain conditions. These Pokémon are often pre-evolutions of Pokémon that you’ll find in the wild. You might be able to find some of these new Pokémon in locations around Sinnoh, but it’s usually easier to discover them in the Day Care, since they are often very rare!

To discover one of these peculiar Pokémon Eggs, you need one of the Pokémon that you’ve left in the Day Care to be holding a particular item. You may have randomly collected various incenses on your trek through Sinnoh and these are the items that you need to give to Pokémon in the Day Care to guarantee that certain Pokémon Eggs appear.

When you let either the male or female Pokémon in the Day Care hold the right item, the Egg that you’ll discover may be a new Pokémon! For example, if you have a female Wobbuffet and a male in the Amorphous Group in the Day Care, and one of them (it doesn’t matter which) is holding the Lax Incense, the Egg that will appear will contain the adorable Wynaut!

Here’s a chart of what you need to know to discover one of these special Pokémon Eggs. We already told you how to discover Wynaut. The rest you’ll have to discover for yourself!

Male Pokémon Female Pokémon Necessary Item
Fairy Group or Water Group 1 Marill or Azumarill Sea Incense
Amorphous Group Wobbuffet Lax Incense
Human-like Group Mr. Mime Odd Incense
Mineral Group Sudowoodo Rock Incense
Monster Group Snorlax Full Incense
Water Group 1 Mantine Wave Incense
Fairy Group or Mineral Group Roselia or Roserade Rose Incense
Fairy Group Chansey or Blissey Luck Incense
Amorphous Group Chimecho Pure Incense

Discovering Eggs can take a long time, but with all the fascinating Pokémon you can add to your collection, it’s also very rewarding! Keep working at it and soon your Pokédex will grow bigger than ever before.
