Dragon-type Pokémon

Dragon-type Pokémon have always drawn a lot of attention from Pokémon fans. They tend to be powerful and large. Of the few Dragon-type Pokémon, many are Legendary Pokémon, including the likes of Rayquaza, Dialga, and Palkia, and now Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem. And even non-Legendary Pokémon such as Dragonite, Garchomp, and Hydreigon are exciting to catch and train.

The Dragon type is making a huge impact in the Pokémon Trading Card Game with the Black & White—Dragons Exalted expansion. Many of these new Dragon-type Pokémon have attacks that require two Energy types. And as in the video game series, Dragon-type Pokémon have a Weakness against other Dragon-type Pokémon.

The first Legendary Dragon-type Pokémon-EX to arrive are Rayquaza-EX and Giratina-EX, ready to highlight your next deck. Both have huge HP and attacks to turn the tide of battle. Look for them in Black & White—Dragons Exalted booster packs starting August 20th!

In Pokémon TV and Movies

Dragon-type Pokémon have of course made it into Pokémon TV and movies, and often in leading roles. Most recently we've seen Reshiram and Zekrom take center stage in the Pokémon the Movie: Black—Victini and Reshiram and Pokémon the Movie: White—Victini and Zekrom movies. And if you go back to Pokémon Heroes, you'll see the Legendary Dragon-type Pokémon Latios and Latias featured.

To celebrate the Dragon-type Pokémon that have appeared in the Pokémon TV series, visit Pokémon TV all this month to watch episodes featuring these fascinating Pokémon. We'll be adding new episodes each week, giving you the chance to see all kinds of Dragon-type Pokémon in action.

Battling with Dragon-type Pokémon has always been challenging and fun. They're vulnerable only to Ice-type and Dragon-type attacks. But they're only super effective against other Dragon-type Pokémon; to excel, they have to rely on sheer might to knock out their opponent. Fortunately, stunning attacks like Draco Meteor, Dragon Rush, and Spacial Rend give them the strength to match up against any Pokémon, regardless of type.

In Pokémon Conquest

Dragon-type Pokémon have important roles in the new Pokémon Conquest game for the Nintendo DS, too. Don’t miss Legendary Pokémon Zekrom fighting alongside Nobunaga, and see Nobunaga join forces with a unique black Rayquaza of incomparable strength.
