The Pokémon Video Game European National Championships are about to begin!
Start getting your Pokémon team ready for three exciting video game tournaments in Europe! This year’s Pokémon Video Game European National Championships will be held in Italy, Germany, and the United Kingdom in May and June. These events are free and open to all competitors—you don’t have to be a citizen of the country where the event takes place.
VGCS Italy National Championships
Milan, Italy: May 11–12
VGCS Germany National Championships
Bochum, Germany: May 26
VGCS UK National Championships
Birmingham, England: June 2
This year, these events will use the Swiss format, a tournament style that pairs up players with similar records so they have more opportunities to play throughout the day. Then, the top finishers in the Swiss rounds will face off in a single-elimination bracket to determine who’s the best!
There are prizes on the line at these events, with the best finishers in each of the three age divisions earning Travel Awards to the Pokémon Video Game World Championships in Vancouver, Canada, this August. Other prizes include invitations to the World Championships, Nintendo 3DS XL systems, and much more!
You can even get a head start on these events by playing in the upcoming Pokémon Global Battle Union International Challenge tournaments hosted at the Pokémon Global Link. Top performers in these online competitions will earn byes to the big tournaments!
