To participate in either live or Wi-Fi tournaments, you place your Pokémon team in your Battle Box. You can be registered for one live tournament and one Wi-Fi tournament at the same time, but both events use the same Battle Box. If you are participating in a Wi-Fi event and a live event simultaneously, any action that would unlock your Battle Box after one event will end your ability to participate in both events. This will affect players who want to compete in the International Challenge and the France or Spain National Championships.

If you plan to play in the 2012 International Challenge and the France National Championships:

1. Register for the International Challenge at the Pokémon Global Link, but do not download the regulations yet.

2. Attend the France National Championships. After the competition, go to the “Live Competition” screen and select "Cancel Participation." This will unlock your Battle Box and allow you to change your team for the International Challenge.

3. Once your team is set in the Battle Box, go to the “Wi-Fi Competition” and download the regulations to lock your Battle Box.

4. Once the International Challenge is complete, go to the “Wi-Fi Competition” screen again and select “Cancel Participation” to unlock your Battle Box.

If you plan to play in the 2012 International Challenge and the Spain National Championships:

1. Register for the International Challenge at the Pokémon Global Link. Download the regulations to lock your Battle Box.

2. Attend the Spain National Championships. You will be required to use the exact same team for both the International Challenge and the Spain National Championships.

3. Once you have finished the Spain National Championships, do not select "Cancel Participation." Doing so will unlock your Battle Box for both competitions.

4. Once the International Challenge is complete, go to the “Wi-Fi Competition” screen again and select “Cancel Participation” to unlock your Battle Box.

If you plan to play in all three events:

1. Register for the International Challenge at the Pokémon Global Link, but do not download the regulations yet.

2. Attend the France National Championships. After the competition, go to the “Live Competition” screen and select "Cancel Participation." This will unlock your Battle Box and allow you to change your team for the International Challenge.

3. Once your team is set in the Battle Box, go to the “Wi-Fi Competition” and download the regulations to lock your Battle Box.

4. Attend the Spain National Championships. You will be required to use the exact same team for both the International Challenge and the Spain National Championships.

5. Once you have finished the Spain National Championships, do not select "Cancel Participation." Doing so will unlock your Battle Box for both competitions.

6. Once the International Challenge is complete, go to the “Wi-Fi Competition” screen again and select “Cancel Participation” to unlock your Battle Box.
