Triple Play!

There’s nothing quite like the thrill of a Pokémon battle, but what happens when your battle opponents are an all-star line-up of Nintendo characters? Find out in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Brawl video game for the Nintendo Wii! We’ll take a peek at some of the Pokémon surprises in this multiplayer action brawler – Pokéfans may know that Pikachu, Poké Balls, and even some Pokémon-themed stages have already appeared in the Super Smash Bros. series, but this will be the first Super Smash Bros. game in which you can play a Pokémon Trainer!

First things first, though! The Poké Ball item will appear in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Toss it at your foes and see what happens – it could be a helpful Chikorita or maybe a not-so-helpful Goldeen. It might even be a Legendary Pokémon! The mighty Groudon will have your opposition hot under the collar, and Deoxys will unleash a powerful Hyper Beam!

And what about that Trainer? Well, the Pokémon Trainer fights using the three Pokémon at his command: Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard! Use his Pokémon Change move to switch  between Pokémon and make the most of their special moves, such as Squirtle's Waterfall, Ivysaur's Vine Whip, and Charizard's Flamethrower! With different Pokémon  to choose from, strategy will be key – so for starters, don’t leave a Pokémon in battle for too long!
