It’s Simply Smash-ing!

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is in stores now, and Pokémon fans will get a kick out of this non-stop melee fighting game for the Nintendo Wii! Super Smash Bros. Brawl is the latest entry in the Smash Bros. series of games and, like the games before it, it includes a definite Pokémon presence. Play as Pikachu or a Pokémon Trainer in a frenzied fight to the finish against a line-up of other famous Nintendo game characters like Mario and Link - the Pokémon Trainer even battles by rotating through his three Pokémon: Charizard, Ivysaur, and Squirtle!

Play as Pikachu and you'll be able to unleash Pikachu’s signature moves like Volt Tackle, Thunder, and Quick Attack. Volt Tackle is a special Final Smash move, but you can use moves like Thunder and Quick Attack to your heart’s content. Quick Attack sends Pikachu leaping into the air, and you can get some great hang time if you do it just right! As for Thunder, it's a blast of electricity that will make opponents think twice about getting too close. Pikachu can also hit with a side smash attack, but its strength decreases with successive hits, so make them count!

Pikachu isn't the only Pokémon you'll see in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, either! Pokè Ball items occasionally appear, but there’s no way to know what Pokémon is inside a Pokè Ball before you use it: will it be Snorlax? Wobbuffet? Even a Manaphy or Deoxys? Plus, you can even choose to battle on a type-shifting Pokémon Stadium stage!

There are other hidden Pokémon surprises still to discover in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, too! So stay tuned and check out the News section of Pokémon.com or the Super Smash Bros. Brawl website for more!
